My family and I were in church yesterday and my wife nudged me to look at a lady who was texting in the pew in front of us. My wife said, "Can you believe her?!!" I thought it was pretty bad. But...
About five minutes later, during the opening hymn, I saw the newly ordained deacon up on the alter smiling an uncomfortable smile and looking down. I followed his eyes, and what did I see? Our octogenarian priest, standing before us, supposedly leading us in the hymn, but instead TEXTING ON HIS PHONE.
To say I was shocked is an understatement. I was also extremely disappointed.

Cut him some slack. He was probably just making a last minute bet on the Super Bowl.
This did give me a great idea, though: virtual masses. Maybe even a confessional app for your smart phone. Enter in your sin, get instant redemption steps (5 Hail Mary's, 4 Our Fathers, etc) and forgiveness in a matter of seconds.
Ha! Love your app.
Maybe he had to look up the words.
