A President Without A Clue
Yesterday, NPR radio played a clip of former president Bill Clinton defiantly pointing out that for Hillary to bow out now would in essence disenfranchise states with upcoming primaries. Ala Howard Dean, Clinton began ticking down a list of states..."Indiana, North Carolina, Kentucky, Oregon..." But, he MISPRONOUNCED OREGON! YES, A FORMER PRESIDENT DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO PRONOUNCE ONE OF THE 50 STATES.
He pronounced it Or-eh-GONE. The proper pronunciation is OR-eh-gun. I should know, having lived there for almost 10 years.
A year ago, I never would have thought that Bill would be a detriment to Hillary's campagin, but this is just the latest in a string of guffaws or, in some cases, just outright bad judgement.

A lot of Oregon's neighbors to the north pronounce it the same way. It's kind of like Nevada and Nevahda.
Two wrongs don't make a right.
I don't think pronouncing words correctly is a prerequisite for the presidency. Our current president still can't say the word nuclear. Why doesn't somebody tell him it isn't nuculer?
What is more surprising is that fellow western stater New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson also mispronounces Oregon despite correctly pronouncing nearby Nevada.
