We're having a nice Memorial Day weekend. The weather isn't great, but we've been able to socialize with friends and get some house cleaning done.
In early October, I organized a neighborhood-wide garage sale, during which a dozen homes opened their garages and slapped price tags on junk. We sold a lot of stuff and made about $200. The idea was to clear out some stuff and make our house a little more streamlined. But, wouldn't you know it, all the stuff that didn't sell, like halogen lamps, chandeliers, curtain rods, etc just stayed in the garage's third bay. For 7 months, it bugged me. Finally I took care of it yesterday and it feels (and looks) great.
I also cleaned out the refrigerator. Since we're leaving soon, we've not replenished a lot of perishable foods. I opened the fridge and saw only about 10 items, so figured it was the easiest time to take out all the shelves and sanitize everything. It was fun. We now open the door and think we're standing in an appliance warehouse fridge shopping.
My sinus-y cold has now moved to my throat. Lots of juice and sleep should take care of it in time for our trip.
